Just Do It.

Sometimes, you just gotta do it. You just...do it.

I couldn't take the yellow walls any longer, so I painted them white.

And then there was this crazy idea for a black and white striped painting...one Saturday morning, a random array of white paints left from this and that, a tube of black paint {from, uh-huh, college}, and an hour and a half later...I felt like I could breathe again.

And it felt so good. And the room is so much brighter and cleaner (except the ceiling...but we'll leave it until we get her re-roofed. Just pretend the stains and falling dry wall tape aren't there.)

And I am so happy with the lighter walls and my crazy painting. It makes me smile every time I walk in the breakfast room.

Know what else makes me smile? How God is SO in the details. How from the day we moved in, I wanted a chandelier for this room, but we lacked the funds. What do you know? Several years ago I stopped in to visit with a neighbor and saw a beautiful chandelier in their wheel barrow. Mrs. Neighbor informed me it was just some "old" chandelier they were planning to dump in their trash pile on the side of the road. When I asked if I could have it, she called Mr. Neighbor. They decided they wanted $30 for it. That one hangs in our living room. This one was another they planned to throw away. Mr. Neighbor said that for a few hours of manual labor from The Engineer, said chandelier would be ours. The Engineer did his time and brought his bride a beautiful chandelier. Every time I see it, it's like a love letter. The Engineer is so awesome and God is so in the details. And I am so thankful.
