Y'all, we are getting there little by little. All the toilets have been replaced. The HVAC is frozen and in need of more coolant...still waiting for Mr. HVAC to show... All showers/tubs are in working order...we're all sharing one lavatory...we're working on the others...Warrior has bronchitis. Seriously. Not kidding.
We've been warmly welcomed! New friends have shared their towels (when they learned we were all sharing one because I couldn't put my hands on the others-gross, I know!) They've shown up with chicken salad and pimento cheese and fruit and brownies and even a bottle of wine! People have knocked on our door almost daily!
We worshipped Sunday morning and evening and the children finally met some children their own age. It was wonderful! Fed our souls!!!
I cried a little yesterday and got teary hearing the sound of a dear friend's voice on the phone...just missing friends and familiarity. God is good and faithful. He is making a way and graciously surrounding us with new friends-and how precious!
The Engineer hit his head three times today on an open kitchen cabinet door. (We're priming them.) He was not a happy camper.
The kids have built "houses" from the scrap used to crate a few of our belongings. The older two have spent the entire day outside working-Little Man is in charge of construction and Sister is in charge of decorating. They are happy and sweaty and tired.
I'm hoping to be back on the homeschool bandwagon by Monday, but reality considered, it may be the following week...
Here's to living well and fully right where we are! 'Cause I keep wanting to postpone. I keep "well, once x, y, and z are finished, then I'll..." No. The moment is now and it looks like three needy children and a huge pile of boxes and an inability to find my Bible. Just sayin'.

ReplyDeletei know all of those feelings, overwhelmed by sweet new friends and overwhelmed by missing old friends. it's great to meet new ones and miss old ones, means you have lots of them. ;) I think Adeline has said almost every day this week, "Mary Charolette moved to Georgia." See, also good to know you aren't forgotten, right? (:
