Matching

The night before we left for the beach, T headed to a friend's house. I was thrilled. The kids were down and I was happy about a little time to myself. Time to finish a few sewing projects. No sooner had I threaded my needle than a little girl came be-bopping down and announced she "just wasn't tired." In a moment of insane weakness, I invited her to do a little sewing with me. We broke out some watermelon pull and peel twizzlers (my fav) and set to work. She had begged me to make outfits like hers for Little Bit and we did just that.

And we made matching bows. (Sister insisted on fixing her own hair.) If those matching outfits are clean, you can bet she's begging to wear them!

Regardless of attire, you can usually find Sister playing "mama" to Little Bit...toting her about, bossing her around. You know, "sister stuff."

  1. Too bad about your lost evening of alone time, but what a wonderful time for Sister! After-bedtime Twizzlers and sewing with Mama...pretty cool. And Little Bit's outfit is too cute!

  5. OH. HOW. CUTE! God has gifted you, dear friend! You are just so stinkin' good at this sewing stuff! When I need to really learn how to sew (I know some of the basics already but am supposed to take sewing as a course this year), you'll get a phone call! Well anyway, those two angels of yours are so precious in their new outfits. It's pure sweetness.

  6. I love the matching outfits and the sweet sister relationship that seems to be budding but what I love most of all is how you selflessly embraced Sister and engaged her rather than carting her back to bed. What special evening for her, and you!

  7. That is so cool! My "sisters" are six years apart so it makes it difficult to find matching outfits. My stepmom managed to find the cutest Hawaiian outfits though and I love to dress them up together.

You are such a good seamstress. I'm impressed!
