Little man fell face first. While we were out yesterday. In a public bathroom. He was pretty loud. Rightfully so. It's not so obvious in this picture. His upper lip is swollen out and he keeps telling us "my toofies hurts."
While we were out, my children spotted an "army man!" And shouted this info quite loudly. The soldier turned and gave them a smile and in near unison, they hollered, "Thank you for serving our country!" Made me smile! Just before we left, my five year old made me proud. She ran over to the man in uniform and stuck her tiny hand out and said, "Excuse me mister. May I please shake your hand?" He obliged and her grin couldn't have been bigger!
In other news...
Our dining room table doesn't always look so "styled."
Long story short...
We're working...
on a project of the flooring nature.
See those gray/blue tiles? Not for long.
And now...I want your honest opinion. Really, your honest opinion/reaction. Please tell me what you think.
I got this idea in my head for a rabbit tassel. Yesterday I went to work and this is what I wound up with. I showed it to T and he laughed. Really. Hard. And then proclaimed it so bad, it was "blog worthy."
I liked it. But when I got his reaction, I wasn't so sure.
So...please, tell me what you think?
How sweet your children are. They are such a reflection of the wonderful upbringing your giving them. I love that they are proud to be Americans and are thankful for those who serve our country. Very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI like the rabbit tassel a lot better hanging from the door knob. I think it looks good!
I really like the rabbit tassel. I really love that bruised up boy. I am through blogging today. I commented on another blog that I can't remove my comment from and I realized that I didn't come across the way I intended. (By numerous comments after mine...) I think positive comments about rabbits and little men are safe. Right?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that made the soldier feel good! Thats awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI like the rabbit!!! Super cute idea for a baby shower gift (well if its a girl)! The only thing is that with the ribbon around its neck, it kinda looks like its being hung ;)
Are yall getting hardwood floors??? I'm jealous!
I'm going to be the odd man out and say the rabbit tassle might be a bit over the top. Maybe take off some of the trim and just choose one?
ReplyDeleteIs that MC's crib? It's gorgeous!!! Is it an antique? Love it... love it... love it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, the bunny tassel. I, personally, have never really gotten into the tassel accessory so I doubt that I'd hang it in our home. However, I think it's pretty cute and given just the right spot in your home it will look quite cozy. I love that you just up and made it! I know a certain "Bunny" (my mom) who would think that it's super, super cute!
I think the rabbit tassel is adorable.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you are teaching your kids such a wonderful thing by having them thank our soldiers uniform. When someone does this to my hubby, you can just see him swell up with pride. A "thank you" can mean so much.
God Bless you and your family,
Jackie
Your kids are patriotic and obviously following a good example! It's great to hear of others showing admiration for our soldiers! Thanks for setting an example! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the bunny tassel! It's really cute and I've always loved tassels! Hope y'all are doing well!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to the bruised and "fat lip" boy and the renovations!! WOW...glad to be on the "other side" of those (renovations)...but it is exciting, isn't it? :) Well done...you will be pleased with the results...hang in there!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Camille
What a wonderful story about your children and the "Army Man"! I love the Bunny Tassel! I have been wanting to make some but haven't taken the leap!
ReplyDeleteI'm so with your kids on the whole army man thing! I'm so proud of them for using their free speech rights (loudly) and proclaiming their thanks to the soldier in public. And MW wanting to shake his hand! Too cute! That just makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteOk J, you want me to be honest, now... I don't really like the bunny. I can't believe what your husband said, though, about it being so bad it was "blog worthy". Tell him that wasn't very nice. :) I think that if you took the bunny off and found a little girl figurine, you could turn the tassle part into the skirt. You get what I'm sayin'? I have no clue when it comes to such things, though. :) I was thinking it would be pretty (and would look nice in my bedroom) if you used some greens and blues for the tassle part and then stuck the top part of a fairy-type figurine in place of the bunny. So that the tassles and ribbons would be the skirt. Anyways, as I said, I'm no good at this kind of stuff. :)
I have to say that I think the tassel is cute. Andrew on the other hand....would probably go with T's reaction....MEN!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your Bunny Tassel ~ it's absolutely adorable!!! I want one ~ do you sell them? Maybe I should ask "T" if he would sell it to me? :)
ReplyDeleteHope your week is "Hoppy" ~
